#30in30

Afternoon all.

Thought id blog about something different today not FND related (YES!!!!)

Sit back for a moment and just imagine yourself running 30 marathons in 30 consecutive days. Why on earth would I want to imagine myself doing that I hear you ask…..(you have a valid point).

A friend of mine has recently undertook a HUGE challenge, exactly what I just asked you to imagine doing…….30 MARATHONS IN 30 DAYS fundraising for Limb Power and two kids Felicity & Emerson. I will leave a link at the end of this blog so you guys can check out his just giving page and if you can pop a donation on there whilst your there that would be fab. (hey I got to be cheeky, hehe )

He is pushing 30 marathons in 30 days !!! (yes you read that correctly)

So as I said this amazing guy is doing 30 marathons in 30 days, documenting it every step of the way with a video at the start looking ready to go and then the end pretty damn tired, his hands are shredded yet he stills goes on… he really is truly remarkable.

Today he starts his 24th marathon, no days off in between from day 1. How on earth is he doing this? some of you may be thinking or if your anything like me just reading about him makes me exhausted and I’m not even doing it (to be honest I think I would collapse haha). As I said before he is fundraising for 3 causes in hope to raise a total of £30,000 (if you can donate even a £1 click the link at the end of this blog…..oh and thank you )

So who is Limb Power, Emerson and Felicity?

  • Limb Power help engage amputees and individuals with limb impairments in physical activity, sport and the arts to improve quality of life and to aid lifelong rehabilitation which in turn helps them reach their sporting potential.
  • Felicity is 3 years old and has undiagnosed genetic conditions, she has three brain conditions, she is visually impaired, suffers with reflux and has epilepsy which can prove to be difficult to control not to mention she needs 24 hour care.
  • Emerson is 4 years old and when he was 2 he developed a cyst on his spine which paralysed him from waist down. His family work tirelessly to ensure that he keeps smiling through each and every one of his surgeries and rehab and of course the travel and consultations.

So lets here about Dave? Like who is this insane man doing 30 marathons in 30 days?

  • Dave had both his legs amputated through the knees when he was just a few months old as he was born without tibia bones. Not only is he doing this big challenge he has also participated in the Great South Run 5 times, a 24 hour wheelchair push and has played over 300 games of South Hants sitting volleyball…..oh and he also won the We Can Do It Personal Achievement award back in 2016 and just a small add on he is also a 3 x HBSA Disabled Sportsperson of the year. (isn’t this man just the bees knees )

30in30

Yeah so that’s 30 in 30 !!!

So as promised here is the link to Dave’s Just Giving Page take a look, share share share the page and whilst your there share this blog as well just to get more word out there about Dave and his 30 in 30 challenge (secretly promoting my blog at the same time haha)……….and if you can please please please donate to this fantastic cause.
